 woe is me: i bought the wheels, i bought the tires. i swapped to
winters less then 500 miles afterwards. i traded the gti in on the
winters.
so here's the deal:
$750 + shipping gets you

4 wheels: mille miglia spyder 2
offset: 35 mm (perfect for gti)
bolt: 5x100 (gti bolt pattern)
perfect condition. no rash, no scrapes, no bends, perfect finish
the list price for these is $169 each

4 tires:
sumitomo htr z2
less than 500 miles (95% tread if not more)
225/45/r17
not sure what the prices are for these. Probably around $110 apiece or
so, but they're decent tires.

they're well balanced. (another $40 down the drain)

i'm going to let this go for $750 + shipping, or pickup, or if you're
within an hour of the philly area i'll deliver

$169 x4 = 676
$100 x4 = 400
so you're getting something like 1000 bucks of wheel and tire for 750
