A cold one to the group on me. I made it another year older and am still
breathing and slowly kicking. My b-i-l is taking me down to the trap
shoot/gun show at Vandalia for the day and then the junk food begins out at
the county fair this evening. The only way it could get any better is if a
luscious blond came up and gave me a big hug. Sit back down Roy.... <VBG>

Then again there's always the OLDER WOMEN. They don't swell, they

Have fun.

Dylan concert on a Monday night? Man, that's gonna make for a long Tuesday
at work. Or did you take the Tuesday off Paul? You know, in case you had
too much...

Just don't ask him to speak "English".

Bob's version of English is similar to Keith Richards.

Billions of years back, I once had a band when I was a teenager, we did a
song called "21st Century Zimmerman!"

It was a tribute to Bob, but done with the music of Robert Fripp's band "King
Crimson" "21st Century Schizoid Man". With a Bob Dylan vocal.

Bob's real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman. He's from Duluth, Minnesota.

I believe he actually grew up in Hibbing, Minnesota...US PBS stations are
airing Martin Scorsese's Dylan bio, 'No Direction Home', Monday night 9PM
(at least on the Left Coast).

No, BBC2 are doing a 2-part profile of Dylan, by Martin Scorsese, from
his arrival on the scene in the sixties. It's part of a Dylan Season
being broadcast on BBC4, which is available on Freeview in the UK, and
is going to have archive footage, including the Newport Folk Festival
where he went electric.

My Video recorder is waiting...

Whilst I like Dylan I think he's massively over rated, very good in his time
(over 30 years ago) but not for me these days.

Oh, a tv special. Well Paul, that would certainly get you into the groove to
catch a concert as he is over there and will be performing this November in
the UK. Maybe you can organize a Penelope for a Dylan concert? I realize
that would be a first here yet who knows, with all the added excitment he
might even start showing up at the GP's next season?

An Indian parks his F-150 and walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one
hand pulling a male buffalo with the other. He says to the waiter,
"Want coffee."

The waiter says, "Sure chief, coming right up." He gets the Indian a
tall mug of coffee.

The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp, turns and blasts the
buffalo with the shotgun, causing parts of the animal to splatter
every where, then just walks out.

The next morning the Indian returns. He has his shotgun in one hand
pulling another male buffalo with the other. He walks up to the
counter and says to the waiter, "Want coffee."

The waiter says, "Whoa, Tonto! We're still cleaning up your mess from
yesterday. What was all that about, anyway?"

(hang on, this is really good......)

The Indian smiles and proudly says, "Training for upper management
position in United States Government: Come in, drink coffee, shoot the
bull, leave mess for others to clean up, disappear for rest of day.

Thoroughly enjoyed the first part, although I know a lot was left out.
But anyone who compares Dylan (negatively) with Guthrie really is
talking nonsense, early Dylan was very Guthrie-inspired, but he moved
on to develop his own unique talent. Listening to the words of "Hard
rain" or "Pawn in their game" shows how different he was.

Great profile, and the second part is tomorrow.

It was very well done. I learned a lot, especially how he went to see Woody
in the hospital. Interesting part about the "borrowed" records....still not
"returned"?

Part 2 tonight, I haven't watched this much TV in one sitting since....well
since F1, ChampCar and ALMS were on in the same weekend. OK, I meant
non-race programming.
