 The roof mounted antenna on my 2001 Golf gave out (snapped in the boot area)
last week. I purchased a new one at the dealership but I cannot get good AM
reception, the quality is very poor. Basically there is a considerable
amount of static. FM reception is fine.



When I phoned the dealer they said it is likely that the antenna is no
longer grounded. They said that this does happen and that the "snapped"
antenna should not have created the problem, it is just a coincidence.



To fix the problem they say they need to remove the headliner, an expensive
repair for something that should never have happened.



Hs anyone experienced this problem and is there a recommended fix?

 The antenna on my 2001 Golf broke (snapped in the boot area) last week.
After installing a new one purchased from the dealer AM reception is very
poor. Basically there is a considerable amount of static; FM reception is
fine.

I called the dealership and they told me the static problem does occur and
was due to poor grounding. They also said the condition was probably not
caused by the broken antenna, just a coincidence. If they were to
investigate it would involve removing the headliner, an expensive fix for
something that should not have occurred.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any suggestions for a repair
would be appreciated.

 hey i have a 95 jetta GLS and i took out the battery for replacement and went i put back the batery my radio wasn't working if anyone know how to reprogram it please give me some tip please
