 If it's like my Toyota Matrix, turn the key to the ON position and wait for the odometer to light up. Be sure the odometer is in the odometer setting and not one of the 'trip' settings. Press and hold the reset button, turn the ignition to ACC, then back to 'ON' while still holding the button. The odometer will flash, then show a countdown bar, then the light will be reset.
I hope that's right - it's from memory.
