I'm going to remove my daughters 98 Corolla starter this weekend and check the contacts. It has the classic symtoms, fine for awhile then nothing, nothing, starts, fine for awhile, nothing, nothing, starts......... I doubt I'll find contacts at the dealer and I saw the posts where I can order some online.
My question is on getting the starter out. Is there any components I should remove to gain better access or is it just a matter of the right tool and just keeping at it till I get it out? How many bolts hold it in? It seems pretty well hidden behind the manifold and radiator.
