MK2 Golf seat fettling

What's the best way to get a reasonable job without breaking the bank? Find
a good passenger seat, hack it to bits and produce a good driver's seat?
Find an upholsterer and give him a lot of money? Find an upholsterer, give
him said good passenger seat, less money, and driver's side seat?

Ripping the interior out and fitting buckets isn't an option. Problem is the
usual buggered driver's side seat bolsters (and bolster cushions).

Wedge in a passenger seat and put up with the adjusters being on the
wrong side.

Find a left hooker and take the seat out of that. Better still find a 'rocco as
the seats are lower as standard so tall blokes don't need to open the sunroof to
drive it.

Nah, just tell people to get in the other side. If you're picking someone
up and not getting out, they'll have to do that anyway :-)

Why would you ever be tilting the driver's seat ? Your rear-seat passengers
always enter and exit through the passenger side, surely !

Try a Merc Vito (sp) I borrow a couple now and then when I need to shift big
stuff and the top end tdi shifts remarkably well when you push it and the auto
box is actually really nice especially in semi auto mode.

Can't you do all that from the passenger side ?

I've only ever tilted my driver's seat once since I got the car, and that
was to check the electric runners worked :)
