 You should not be fooling with this yourself, for sure do not add any freon,
freezing up does not indicate a low freon problem, this should be checked at
a qualified ac repair facility.

It could be low or there could be other problems in the system. You
really need a set of gauges to see what the operating high and low
pressures are to tell exactly whats going on. Assuming you don't want
to go to that expense at least get one of the cans with a pressure
gauge on it so you can see what the low pressure side is running.

www.airconditionl.c­om has a webboard with several excellent
automotice a/c technicians. You might want to post there as well.

 My Dodge van did, and still does, that.
I had it checked by a qualified air conditioning technician,
and everything was right on the nose.
I was the culprit. I was running the AC on max all the time, and it WILL
freeze if you do that.
I installed film on the windows to lessen the heat load,
and got some relief.
If you are experiencing the same situation, DONT just add more Freon.
