Flashing battery test light

Memphistim 25 April 2005 19:49:51
The electrical system on my '91 Mazda 929 has gone completely haywire. I
checked for a short with a 12 volt test light between negative cable and
-battery terminal. The result was a steady on and off flash. Does the
indicate a short in my turn signal? If anyone has any ideas I'd like to
hear them. Thanks, Tim

Loose connection between the negative cable and the negative battery
terminal. Unless you have a weird test light, it should never illuminate
when connected as you describe. The blinking could be caused by a
cycling load, which could be a turn signal or any other load that is
hiccupping due to a bad ground connection.
