Need help changing part

 I've got a vauxhall corsa 95 model 1.5 diesel, I have been having trouble
with it when fuel gets to around 5 litres in the tank as it starts
stalling, also at fuel eccomomy it is doing 36 miles to the gallon which on
a diesel is fairly poor.
I am sure the fuel filter needs changing, how easy is this to do and does
the engine need bleeding?
