 It could be a mild hit or it could cost more than the vehicle is worth.

The problem is rusty fittings. I have ended up replacing the complete
system on some for one stupid leak. The fitting upstream won't come out
and snaps, so the next line or part has to be changed and if it is the
combination valve, then all the fittings or lines at the fittings snap
and all the lines have to be done. Nasty nasty job sometimes...

You got that one right. about the time your have a fitting rusted on a union
or a wheel cylinder your anxiety level goes up significantly...
I replaced the lines on my 86 mazda truck and learned the lesson.
I did i myself and finally got them off, but it was a royal pain.
I also learned about different flares and fitting types.
I bought the prebuilts and bent them to fit.
That truck found its way to Mexico shortly after that.... ;)
