Sure, I own a 94, I can give you a bit;

The name MR2 was explained by Toyota as meaning 'Mid Engine, Runabout, 2
seater' although they claim now 'Mid Engine, Rear Drive, 2 Seater' which
most owners prefer.

The MR2 is a rear engine car fitted with either the 2.2L DOHC 5SFE Fuel
Economy or 2.0L DOHC 3SGTE Performance (Turbo) engine.

The 5SFE NA is a good Economy engine that outputs about 135hp and gets about
30mpg. The 3SGTE is about 200hp and may be one of the top production 4
cylinders ever made. A few are running over 800rwhp on the 3SGTE. A well
taken care of engine will last well over 200k miles, although some 5SFEs
have failed before 80K, usually rare. The 5S can be replaced pretty cheaply
usually only costing around $400 for a new block.

T-tops, sunroof and hardtop were all available options.80% of MR2s up until
93 are Turbo, NA production after 93 became rare. Fog lights are found on
most Turbo models, most turbo models are also T-top flavored.

The 1991 is the most widely available MR2 in the US. Problems with the 91
include 2nd gear synchro and understear problems. Some experienced drivers
prefer the understear while novice rear engine drivers may find it
troublesome. Wheels for the '91 are 14" staggered setup.

1991 Number Sold In US: 11,211.
Current average price range;
NA: $2,500 - $4,000
Turbo: $3,500 - $5,000

The 1992 model year is almost identical the 1991.

1992 Number Sold in US: 6,188.
Current average price range;
NA: $3,000 - $4.500
Turbo: $4,000 - $5,800

In 1993 a few changes were made. Trailing arms were extended; shock and
spring rates were changed as well. The car now came with 15" aluminum wheels
much preferred over the pre '93. A few other changes were made including
color keyed mirrors & front lip.

1993 Number Sold in US: 2,917.
Current average price range;
NA: $4,000 - $5,500
Turbo: $5,000 - $7,800

1994 is the second most rare production year with sales of sports cars
slowing down only 1 year remained after 1994 in the US. Changes made were a
new single piece spoiler replacing the previous 3 piece spoiler. New front
lip design, lower body cladding, and a new round tail light design were
among the major of the changes. New multi stage suspension was also
introduced. Tail light conversion in pre '94 cars is a common upgrade. A
passenger side air bag was also added for the 94 model year. There are a few
other minor changes such as some interior upgrades, most not noticeable. NA
and Turbo HP increased by about +5hp from 93, +10hp from pre 93.

1994 Number Sold in US: 908.
Current average price range;
NA: $7,000 - $10,500
Turbo: $9,000 - $13,500

1995, the most sought after year for collectors. This was the last year for
the MR2 in the US. Sales had come to a slow drip with consumers now looking
away from sports cars to more 'practical' vehicles. The 1995 is almost
completely identical to the 1994.

1995 Number Sold in US: 356.
Current average price range;
NA: $8,500 - $12,500
Turbo: $13,900 - $17,500

Conclusion, the MR2 is a great, great sports car. Many lotus owners as well
as other higher end sports cars still prefer the look and feel of the MR2.
It should however be driven with caution to any new owner. Rear engine cars
such as the MR2 are not for the novice, it is a true drivers sports car. You
can lose control easily if you do something dumb, like breaking in a corner,
something you should always avoid in a rear engine car. It is also not a
winter car, although some do drive them in the winter snow, only possible
with a very good set of winter tires, still not something preferred. It
should also be noted that a mint condition, low mileage MR2 of any year can
be found in upwards of $18,000, a mint low mileage 95 over 20K. Prices range
quite a bit by the area you live in, the owners really control the market
price.

I think I've answered the most common stuff, if you have any more questions
please feel free to ask here or on the MR2 Forums.
