84 Chevy Blazer head Torque..

Joe 23 March 2005 19:38:37
 Hi,
The head gasket blew on my 84 Blazer.
I found the Chiltons book and details to remove the head and the sequence of
tightening the bolts..
I plan to remove it and have it checked at the shop for cracks or warp.
If ok I'll put it back on.
I have the bolt sequence but I can't find the pounds of torque needed for
the head bolts..
If anyone could help appreciated..
I plan to get
Headgaskets..
New Head bolt set..
Anything else?
I'm a novice but I want to learn..
Thanks again for reading..Joe

85-90 ft lbs is a good enough, use a tap to chase the threads in all the
bolt holes before reinstalling the head bolts and use thread sealant to
prevent water from seeping up the bolts.
Also you must drain the block before installing the head bolts......but you
already knew that I'm sure.
