Jumped my 1993 Chevy Astro today. Its been sitting for a while. Started
fine and ran for about 5 minutes. Went to move it and turn it around to
repark it. Noticed the voltage gauge was pegged to the left (forget the
reading) normally in the middle. The check engine light was on as well
as the battery light and brake light. No brakes on. Went to back up and
the van cut off. It would not restart.
It was practically dark so I didn't pursue it tonight. Not sure what to
look for tomorrow.

Any ideas?

 Sounds like the alternator was not charging and the car drained what little
was left in the battery from the jump. Try jumping it again and testing
with DMM or other suitable device to determine if alternator is charging
while the van is running. If not, then that would be the first place to
start.
