HEATER QUESTION?

I wonder if somebody could give me some advice about a problem that I'm
having on the heater and defroster on my 1970 Cadillac Sedan DeVille.
When I turn on the heater or defroster they blow cool to lukewarm air,
and the interior of the car fills with smoke.

The obvious answer to is the heater core. However, I've had the car to
two different repair shops. They both checked the heater core, and
found nothing wrong with it. They also checked the radiator, the hoses
& clamps, as well as the exhuast system. Everything checks out normal.

Neither repair shop has a clue as to what is causing the problem.

Would appreciate any thoughts.

Hmmm -- I could be wrong -- not sure how that system operates -- if by
vacuum! -->> Perhaps a faulty diaphragm or a leak in the vacuum system that
leads into the firewall/into the cab <<A guess!

Good point, but if that is causing smoke to fill the insides, then heat
is the least of his worries.....

If he opens the oil filler cap when it is running and tons of smoke
pours out there, then a vacuum line off could be pouring the blow by
into the passenger compartment.
