Did you happen to begin hearing tappet sounds after the oil/filter change?!



What brand oil -- perhaps citgo (recycled) oil or??

Also what brand of filter? Some have been shown to lack real drain back
protection and cause the engine to start dry.
At least in one case it was a new Delco filter that was at fault.

 It may not be the brand that will solve the problem but the best lube
will do a better job of protection until the dysfunction is solved.
The 100% synthetic brand that is my choice for all sorts of reasons
can be seen at my web site.

I am having the exact same problem on my Camaro 98. Strangely, this started after an oil change. Can you please tell me how you got this problem fixed ? The service dept at the Dealer had no clue about this.
