 I was driving along and suddenly my headlights, dashboard and interior
lights went out, but my ABS warning light came on. My radio settings
vanished when I stopped and restarted my engine. The fuses on the side
look OK and the brake and turn signals are ok. Anybody got any ideas?

Car off, engine off, keys removed from ignition.

Measure for any parasitic loads on your battery by disconnecting neg
cable from bat terminal post and putting an ammeter in there. You
should read no more than 20 milliamperes with the engine off. 35
milliamperes or more means you have something running in the
background that shouldn't be. Something like a light in the glovebox,
or trunk.

Otherwise, you could have a fusible link somewhere that burned out,
that is in a cable harness. Or corroded connectors on a cable
harness, or a blown fuse somewhere that feeds all these circuits, but
it sounds like you have a parasitic load that is yanking down your
battery when the car isn't running. Do the above test. It could even
be a wire that is shorted to chassis, but not pulling enough current
to take out a fuse, just enough to kill your battery.

Do the parasitic load test. Attach meter wires to terminal and cable
clamp before and during lifting of cable clamp off battery so you
don't lose continuity and reset any engine computers.
