 According to an automotive instructor, the automatic transmission in the
2000 LS2 was capable of towing for almost unlimited distances. It is rated
at 400 foot-pounds of torque. Ours has over 150,000 km on it and has not
yet been serviced; we will do a fluid change this summer. This is a sealed
tranny (no dipstick) so the fluid does not get any dust contamination.
