| Possible fuel pump problems Roo 22:29:39 |
| | Hi Guys, I have a '93 Saab 9000. A few weeks ago I had a tame mechanic fit a 'a good as new' fuel pump for me. All the while I keep the tank topped up there's no problem. However, it's when the fuel level drops below 1/2 a tank is when the problem starts. Normal driving is fine, but when I ease off the throttle to turn, slow down etc. the engine falters almost to stand still as I apply the throttle. What ever answers you have will be much appreciated, especially if they involve NOT forking out for another pump. Thankyou, ROO

| Wiring Smoked From Inside Dashboard. Here's what Happened.. Markc@Merr.Com 03:12:47 |
| | Because of what I think was bad gas or a clogged fuel filter I was having problems with the engine stalling and dying (I just bought the car so I don't know the history of it but it had been sitting for at least a year or more). It would start and idle (sometimes it would not idle. very erratic) but then die if I tried to drive it (especially up hills). What happened was a that I panicked and kept on trying to start it (so I could get it home just a few blocks away) but then it overheated the wiring to the starter (what else could it be?). I was getting smoke coming from inside the dash and fortunately the car didn't start on fire. What I need to know is where to look for the section of wiring where it most likely overheated. I was out taking the dash apart today but I'll have to get a steering wheel puller. From what I can see so far when looking inside the dash from the top & underneath I can find no obvious melted wiring sections. While I was trying to start my car, someone from a nearby house said that they saw small flames underneath my car so I'm thinking that too much gas was getting down into the system (maybe the fuel pressure regulator is bad?). At this point I want to first figure out & replace the burned wiring before I troubleshoot the starting problem. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

| More Sonett return rumours ... Paul Halliday 00:35:00 |
| | Hot on the heels of the Aero X, rumours are that GM are to release a sports cars. I know these rumours have been around for some time, essentially for a car based on the Saturn, but now with the Aero X, perhaps SAAB have an ace up their sleeve?

Not true, at least for the 2004. My 9-3 has the Xenons and I've the daytime running lights off since the 30-day check up.

| difference in ride/power 9-3 Ginny Wong 18:11:08 |
| | I have year 2000, 93 -low pressure autobox and love it. Goes like stink when called to perform! Looking for newer 93, perhaps the anniversary edition with premium upgrades. Is it worth it? What are SAAB peoples opinions on the differences between low and high pressure turbo engines? Gas needs to be a better grade in the high pressure but is the extra expense worth a more powerful turbo engine?
Thanks, . . . .Gin

| | Hi, I think I have my problem solved. I went to a dealer to get the stuff diagonized. They told me I need to replace the spark plugs and the DI cassette.
I bought the spark plugs and replaced them myself and ordered the DI cassette from the http://www.eeuroparts.com/home.aspx. Replaced the parts myself and reset the check engine light.
Have not seen the light come back on after that.
This might help someone with the same problem.

| Any pipe smoking 9.5 drivers in the house? Michael Hudson 18:22:41 |
| | My '02 9.5 has no ash tray and is not exactly awash with handy spots to rest a partially smokedand possibly still burning pipe of tobacco. The little change/glasses cubby hole thingy is too small to accept a pipe and I'm not sure where I could safely/conveniently/aesthetically mount a pipe holder. Would anyone with 9.5 pipe smoking experience care to share their thoughts and/or solutions?
Thanks very much,

| Wiindscreen washer stuck Wido van Krieken 17:05:22 |
| | My left windscreen washer did not spray fluid. The problem was the little plastic T-part under the hood. After removing this part and connecting the hose directly to the spray-head it works fine again.
What is the function of the plastic T-part in the hose which I now removed?

Suppose i have a card loaded with Euros and i wan't to with draw money from a VISA ATM in Sweden . Then what 'cross

Cross border currency conversion rate: It is the exchange rate applied by VISA for processing cross border transactions where the billing currency is different from the card currency.

| Radiator Fan is killing my battery! Will Frazier 06:35:56 |
| | Hey everyone. I have a 1988 Saab 9000. After purchasing the vehicle from the previous owner, I noticed that the radiator fan would stay on after the car had shut off (i'm not sure if this is normal). some months later, the fan switch went bad, and i replaced it. After replacing the fan switch, I began to pay more attention to the fan, seeing that it now switches on whenever the car is started, regardless of how cold the engine is, and it will stay on for 10 or so minutes, regardless of how long the engine is running. This has been causing my battery to go dead whenever i turn the car on for a short period. I could really use some advice on this one. Could I have possibly hooked the fan switch up wrong?
