| 3.0 V6 TiD with a problem Ges 22:58:24 |
| | Have an 02 model 95 estate with 55k on the clock, full service history and I'm really pleased with it, but ..... when under load like towing our caravan, it's got what I would describe as a "judder". This doesn't affect the performance at all, but my local Saab dealer can't find anything wrong. Nothing's showing on the diagnostics and no lights display.
It tends to be as it warms up and I've had to slow down and once it starts, it just keeps doing it. By keeping in a gear lower than you'd expect to be in, it doesn't do it and as soon as the caravan is taken off it disappears ! Very difficult to replicate, but have managed on a couple of occassions without the caravan on.
Has anyone else had similar and if so, what's the problem and cure please? I'm really worried that something's going to go bang !

| Valentine 1 installation in a 2006 convertible Steve-public 06:37:58 |
| | Anyone have any practical experience permanently installing a Valentine 1 radar detector in a 2006 convertible?
I found a great set of install steps and diagrams for a 2004, using the wiring under the light panel. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be any ground screw in the 2006 in that area as there was in the 04.
Thanks

| Purge Valve Solenoid Connector Bust Ben 19:27:08 |
| | Hi all,
99, 9-3 - the dealer tells me that I have a wire broken off the purge valve solenoid connector - hence Check Engine come on.
I'm handy, electronics-wise and I can solder this wire, or change the connector myself? Is this valve in a hard to reach area, engine wise?
Dealer wants 1.5 hours labor to do this (~ $120).
Thanks, Ben

| Adding Climate Control to 1999 Saab 93 Guest 10:04:06 |
| | Hi,
I've got a 1999 SAAB 93 with AC but no climate control. How easy would it be to add the climate control unit (which I've seen on ebay) and other needed components? What would I need to do?

| 1987 Saab for sale. Is it a good deal? Guest 17:44:23 |
| | I am interested in a in 1987 Saab Turbo convertible that the owner will sell for $750. The body is straight, the engine and trans are good. The interior is rough. It seems like a good deal, and I personally trust the seller. Any thoughts? My intentions are to fix it up, and drive it around town. Nothing too intensive. Just buff it out, fix the interior, keep the engine humming. I know nothing about Saabs, per se.

| gasoline grade - how important? Leon 23:49:57 |
| | hi all
I have 03 9-3 linear and absolutely love it, I always used plus or super grade gas in it, however lately due to crazy gas prices in US, I'm considering to switch to regular gas. my question is - will it affect overall performance or pick up torque for this car? (2.0 liter light pressure turbo) The manual says 87 and up is ok for linear but still wanted to know from real life experience. Its my first Saab and Id love to enjoy it for years to come. Thank you for your responses Leon

| 94 9000 Turbo Clutch Problem Guest 23:44:02 |
| | My clutch had been working fine with no symptoms until it failed yesterday. Pushed to the floor - had to pull it back manually - drove on as the clutch continued to operate normally for many shifts until it pushed to the floor again and had to be pulled back - worked again for awhile -- until it did it again. Fourth time around it stopped returning on its own altogether. Had to drive it some distance, shifting without the clutch. Since it still pushes down to the floor (you can pull it up and push it back down again) with the usual pressure, would that rule out a seal failure or compromise of the tube between the master and slave cylinders? I don't have the car here now, so I can't check for fluid underneath, but my garage floor is dry so it couldn't have been a gradual leak anyway. Any thoughts on this, or ideas for a happier ending than the major expense of a clutch replacement?

| Programming a new remote for keyless entry/alarm ('96 Saab 900SE) Googlethis 19:40:18 |
| | So I just bought a 1996 Saab 900SE 5 door that has keyless entry and alarm installed. However, the car didn't come with any remotes. Can I buy a remote from ebay or the like and have it programmed? Or do I have to order one directly from Saab. If the former, can I program the remote myself?
Thanks, Vinay

| Saab 9-3 (2002) and a Baby Seat Slappy White 19:19:59 |
| | I did a quick search but most replys do not state two or four door model.... We are looking at a 9-3 (either hatch or not, we have not decided) four door for the new baby car. Any thoughts on fiting a car seat? Most of the replys to other enquiries say it is hard to fit, is this really true for the four door (or call it five door if you must).
We are also considering the 9-5, but I like the 9-3 better. For both we are looking at the 2002 models but may consider the 2003 newer model if it is a better fit for a baby seat....

| Cooling System Dilemma - '92 900i Guest 18:39:43 |
| | Advice needed...I have been having overheating problems. This part:
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/robanzellotti/album?.dir=/27f0re2
which sits right over the alternator, started leaking. I pulled it out, and it seems there was some kind of passive valve in there that ain't there any more! I assume it blew forward, in the direction of the straight hole. This goes into a metal pipe that takes you to to the back of the engine (front of the car) and goes into the motor. I checked the pipe, it is clear. Is it stuck somewhere in the block, or did it blow through all the way to the radiator? The radiator seems to warm evenly, so maybe that is a good sign - maybe it is right at the entrance. Or maybe I have it all wrong. I don't have any idea which in direction the water flows.
The car is cool as long as I don't take it on the highway. That makes me think there is a partial blockage somewhere, but enough water gets through for low speed driving.
Where should I look? Also, I sealed up the part in question with blue RTV and plan to drive it a few days until I can replace it. It the missing valve the whole problem, as it prevents proper flow? If so, what about the lost valve? It had to go somewhere!
All suggestions appreciated!
Robobass
