944 Auto - Gearbox Problems...

 944 Auto - 1987
On coming to a stop or decellerating and then pulling away there is a
couple of second gap between hitting the throttle and the car responding.
Then when it does it jerks forward as the gearbox kicks in. Is there a
fluid transfer problem?
