I have several problems with my 944s (owned 4 years, 140,000>miles), they may all be connected????

(1) the alarm system: when I first got it, the prior owner did not>have the key the fit the lock on the right quarter. He told me>that if I hear the alarm ticking in the right foot well, to open>the hood and touch the alarm horn with it's wire and that would>clear the alarm. Well that worked for awhile. I then got a new>1/4 alarm lock and that worked for a few weeks. I then installed a>on / off toggle switch to the alarm wires to the 1/4 lock and>would flip it back and forth until the alarm stopped ticking and>it would start. This has worked for the past few years (summer>driver) but is getting less reliable.>I would like to eliminate the alarm from the system. Unplug it and>cross or jump what connections?

(2) two years ago the central locking would lock the doors by it's>self with the car on or off and would lock and unlock while I was>driving. I installed a new central lock switch but it still dose>it. I also noticed that I was having a problem with the key in>the driver's door handle lock cylinder. The key no longer works in>thee driver's side, fine on the passenger's side.

(3) last summer the motor would shut off while driving. I would>turn the ignition key off and back on, while driving at speed, and>it would run again. This was a bit disconcerting, so I put the up>until now.
