Grand Am Gauges

D&D Wheaton 7 April 2005 07:20:36
I just bought a 2004 Grand Am and noticed when i start it all the guages
(tach fuel etc) move all the way to the right then bounce back to the left
then right again before settling down to where they r supposed to be.

Is this normal??

Yes, it should be mentioned in your owners manual. It is a self test
that gages perform just like MIL do when they light up when the key is
turned on. If they a gage doesnt move or a MIL doesnt light then you
should know they are bad.
