 Spark plugs cant explode. But no you should be paying for what they damaged.

the plugs shuldent cost you much anyway. Just buy the plugs and
replace them yourself. Its just the matter of getting a spark plug
wrench and taking them out with that and putting the new ones in with
it. It is a total unrelated insedent

How do you figure it's "unrelated?" Not trying to start a war but just
asking...?

 Probably not oil change places fault....this can happen for no reason BUT....they are trying to take advantage of you by overselling....you can change one plug easily and the wires do not need to be replaced....offer to pay for one plug and helicoil labor....if they don't like that pay the bill and sue in small claims court for the entire amount!
