| | I've taken off the knee panel and looked in there near the steering column and there's nothing there that resembles a flasher unit. I'm use to the old days when it was just a round metal cylinder just hanging under the dash board near your gas peddle - I just can't find it when I took off the Knee panel. Does anyone have any pictures of where I should be looking and what the unit actually looks like in a stock 1999 Pontiac Firebird with a 3.8L engine? |

| | i have a 1999 pontiac montana van , my concern is power door locks work automaticly when i put in drive, and unlock when put back in park put they wont work by the lock switches at all, ive done a little trouble shooting my self , ive found that when i ground the white wire at body control module all the doors unlock and when i ground the light blue wire at the body control module all doors lock. same as when the bcm gets a signal from the trans range sensor. so that tells me the wireing is ok from the bcm to lock actuators. i suspect an open curcuit or bad splice some where between door lock switches and BCM. | | I have an ABS light and TCS off light illuminated on my pontiac. I think it may be a speed sensor in one of my wheel hubs, but replacing all the wheel hubs would be pricey at best. Is there an test I can do myself to check for a bad sensor, such as ohms checking the wiring for resistance? I have replaced the rt front hub, because of damage already. I am also having a problem with my head up display. the HUD is only working when it is wet outside, think it may be a loose wire somewhere but have not been able to find one, any ideas on anything else that could be causing the problem? I am stationed overseas on an island with mechanics that have limited experiance working with U.S. vehicles. |

| | Greetings... I just recently aquired a '96 Bonneville from {censored}... it's in decent shape... has only 122k miles...
When I got it, it had the "Security Light" on.. never have figured out what that was... only thing I can figure is it might have something to do with the radio, as the radio's clock and display don't work at all... I have tried the suggestions about cleaning the keys and such... no luck... but anyways... thats not the reason for this post...
Just about two weeks ago I had a bad gas leak... turns out one of the elbows coming off the tank (sending unit??) had a small crack in it... well I got that repaired and all was good until about 3 days ago... my girllfriend was driving it and she said it started to "loose power" and sputter and she said it smelled "hot"... then the check engine light came on... well I drove it that same day and there was no noticable loss of power or sputtering... no "hot" smell... and the temp gauge stayed in normal operating area.... But the light is still on So I pop the hood and check the fluids... power steering was real low... and the coolant was kinda low... nothing big... So I refilled them both... but that didn't do anything... all the other fluids are good... however... light is STILL on... can't seem to see why as there appears to be no sign of anything wrong...
SO my question is... how do I check this out without taking into the dealer and them charging me $300 to tell me that I need a new gas filter or something... lol... I remeber on my old car I could get a "key" from Auto Zone and plug it in somewhere and the "codes" would flash on the light and tell you what was wrong... then all you had to do was look up the codes.... any help would be great... |

| | I have a 97 Pontiac Grand Prix gt when i am slowing down and then pressing on the gas barely moving my low trac light comes on. Also sometime when i start my car the trac off light, check tire pressure light and the abs light are lite up. I have no idea what the problem could be. Help |

| | I recently brought my '02 Pontiac Grand AM GT to the shop. The first issue was my "service engine soon" light. It had come on after fueling up the car, and the second issue was that whenever I would use the air conditioner, the locks would continuously click back and forth - but only as long as the a/c or the heater was on. There is obviously something wrong here. Well, after spending almost a $1000 in replacing three sensors on the car, the problem still hadn't been resolved. I was wondering if you could help me in finding a replacement ac/bcm relay block - since this is the fuse that constantly blew out. I don't know much about cars, but I do know that it is annoying not to be able to use your air conditioner on a humid day nor to be able to use your heater on an extremely frosty/cost morning. Could you please help me fix this problem? Thanks. ~Samantha |

| | I have a 96 Grand Am and my back drivers door window quit working when I was trying to roll up the window so now the window is stuck half way down when I push the button to the window for that door or from the drivers it doesnt do nuthing there is not even a clicking sound there is nothing? Is it my lift motor that has gone bad or maybe the regalator motor? Any ideas that might help? |
