only use this oil in petrol engines only.so please reply. if u have
used it and the diesel engine is still running.

| | Can any one help i have brought a peogot 206 the problem is the engine is
truning but the car wont fire up to start. I have filled it up with fuel.
Also it is has a choke that needs to be pulled out. Can any one advised me
how to get the car to start.

| | Hi all, i have a '96 306 and the rear passenger side door doesnt open. When you lock the doors the lock makes a loud rattling/scrapping noise. I have taken the interior off and all the locking rods are still connected and the central locking motor still works. Is it a case that the locking mechanism is broken? If so how to i open the door to remove it? any comments will be very welcome!!! Cheers |

| | Hi All, can anyone help with a problem I have 2002 peugeot 406 XL 2ltr Hdi 90 Hp Estate ?. I've lost the AM frequency on the combined Radio / CD Player. All other functions are normal I.E :- FM Mast O.K., FM 1 O.K., CD player O.K. & the
RDS EON functions are all O.K. When I switch to AM all I get is Static. If I go to any of the presets the static gets louder. It's as if the Aerial has been disconnected !!.
As I said all other functions are fine just AM. Has anyone any idea's.

| | I've just fitted a Sony CD player to my brother-in-law's 2002 Peugeot
106 'Independence'. I was surprised to find that it appeared to be
wired for front and rear speakers, despite the fact that it only has
front speakers currently. I had a look, but it wasn't obvious where
the rear speaker wires go to - anyone know?

| | hi all.
ive got a 406 with a 6 cd changer fitted in the boot.(standard fitment) the rear light fitment wasnt as tight as it should have been and allowed water to enter the cd changer. i remover the unit form the car, cleared any water that i could see (just a few drops, nothing excesive)and placed the cd unit on a thick wad of kitchen tissue, then on top of a radiator in the kitchen. i allowed it to dry completely over a couple of days then re-installed it.
before i put any disks into the cassette, i ran a liquid laser cleaner through the system. the display on the dash is registering the disks that i have in the unit, i can also hear the discs changing. what i cant hear is music ! no sound at all. radio and cassette still play clearly, so the problem is with the cd changer and not the system as a whole.
any help would be appreciated. |

I was in Halfords at the weekend and found that they have a ratchet spanner
about 1Ft long specially for replacing Peugeot glow plugs. Should be great
to get at those two aquard ones behind the diesel pump on 406's. Unless you
replace them at the same time as doing the cam belt as I have just done.

| | I have an R Reg Peugeot 306 LX petrol. When it starts is always starts
on the first turn of the crank. Then intermittently it fails to start,
at this time there is no spark from the coil pack. After several
attempts (and you usually seem to have to leave it for a few minutes)
it starts on the first turn of the crank and then runs fine. The
problem occurs once or twice a week and occurs with either ignition
ley. I have taken it to a garage, but typically whilst there it works

Does anyone know where the temperature sensor is? This is the sensor for
the outside air temperature as displayed on the multifunction console - the
one that displays the radio information.

| | Having alot of problems with my peugeot 206 S (2004) it began with the
ABS light, brake light and STOP lights staying on while driving and
then a day later the car wouldnt start. So far we have found the ABS
pump is burned out and needs to be replaced but we cant find out why
the car still wont start - does anyone know is the ABS failing a
problem with peugeots, and would this cause the car to not start?
Appreciate any advice!!!!!

My driver side speaker has stopped working. I've tested another speaker
on the connection coming into door and it works. It must be the wiring
in the door to the speaker (or the connector). The speaker worked on
and off for a little while but now it is all together dead.
How would I go about checking the wiring in the door? I've taken the
trim off but this doesnt expose the wires.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

| | I've got a 406 2.0 petrol which developed a creaking noise from the front
suspension when the steering is turned at low speeds. I jacked it up at the
weekend and found the noise is coming from the front right strut; when the
steering is turned, the spring is trying to turn in the top cup because the
cup stays still; comparing this to the left side, the cup turns with the
strut so the spring isn't trying to twist. I've looked at the parts
breakdown on the service CD and there's a bearing in the top cup (part no.
5035.32). I've ordered a new bearing (replaced by 5035.54) but I'm wondering
how easy this is to replace; I fitted new front dampers last year and don't
recall the top cup assembly coming to bits. Anyone done this on a 406 or
605?

| | I was toddling along in my S reg 406 saloon this morning when I came up
behind a P reg 406 saloon. I was surprised to see that it had a rear wash
wipe that was fitted through the bottom of the rear screen. I was just
curious whether this was something that would have been fitted after market
or was it an option on the early 406 saloons? Anyone know?
