1994 mazda mx 13 stuck in third gear and not go. HELP!!! restrictor 17:08:51
 i have a 1994 mazda mx 13 with the 2.2L engine and automatic transmission and around 190K miles on it. a great dependable little car - until two days ago. i stopped for gas and everything was fine, but when I tried to start the car to leave it was a no-go. all lights work, radio works, all the electrical works EXCEPT it won t start, third gear stuckin. the starter won t even click much less turn over. my first thought was the starter solenoid so I replaced it, but it didn't change anything. i ve read a lot about the pass-key system thinking that may somehow be causing a problem but my keys don't have a "chip" or resistor on them, just plain keys.
Any ideas at all out there? I'm at a loss right now.
