peugeot 406

Sorry to post this here but looking to upgrade to a 406 from a
106.deisel and would like idea on MPG would get from the 406 range of
petrols.

So what can I expect from a 406 1.8 petrol
and 406 2.0 petrol

Is 30-35 MPG about right or is it a lot less

Would of liked a deisel but seem to get snapped up so quickly or hold
the price. But the petrols seem to be slower at selling so want to
know if MPG was the reason.

Also has anyone here had a 406 converted to use the LPG if so could
you give me rough idea on cost and what you get MPG from LPG.

Thanks

My 406 (the 3lt version) consistently turns 11 lts per 100klm,
sometimes does 10. the 2lt should do better.

 Hi
Drive a 1.8 petrol. Average consumption is 32 mpg
thats about half town and half motorway with a bit of standing in traffic.
On long runs it will do much better. I do tend to drive with economy in
mind and don't rev much over 3500rpm thru the gears and will cruise at
75-80mph on the motorway.

So do I - 1998 1.8 estate - it has now done 100,000 miles and I budget on
10p/mile driving around cities and 8 to 9p/mile on a motorway. Have never
worked out what that is in MPG.
