 POMONA, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2005) -- Veteran Funny Car driver Tommy
Johnson Jr. kicked-off the 2005 NHRA season Thursday at Pomona Raceway in
his Skoal RacingSM Chevy Funny Car.

Following a lengthy delay due to a clock malfunction in the left lane and
facing a cool Pomona Raceway drag strip, Johnson's Chevy flopper
shook the tires causing the Iowa native to slow to a pass of 10.139
seconds at 84.97 mph.

POMONA, Calif. (Feb. 9, 2006) -- Defending Winternationals winner Tommy
Johnson Jr. powered his Skoal RacingSM Chevy flopper to a strong opening
pass to kick-off qualifying Thursday at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, but
the run was disqualified when Robert Hight's Funny Car hit the timing
cones near the finish line.
