About 20min into his stint, Jimmie Johnson was confronted with a full
course caution and raised questions about a decision to short-pit The Boss
Snowplow No. 4 Howard-Boss Motorsports Pontiac Crawford. With his race
leading teammate Andy Wallace pitting the No. 20 CITGO car, the team wanted
to call Johnson in so they wouldn't run up against the fuel window and
perhaps trigger the same IPU problem Elliott Forbes-Robinson had just
experienced.
