According to MotoGP reporter, Toby Hirst, HRC has severed its ties with five-time World Champion, Mick Doohan.

Doohan's title between 2000 and 2004 was of HRC Manager. Doohan's main duty was that of advisor to the Respsol-HRC riders. Under his advice, his successor, Valentino Rossi, won three 500cc/MotoGP titles in a row, before the young Italian departed to Yamaha.
