Paul Tracy says this could be his last year racing around the downtown
streets of Toronto in a Champ Car.



At a press conference on Wednesday to promote the 20th edition of the Molson
Indy Toronto, Tracy says he would seriously explore opportunities in NASCAR,
especially if the stock car series makes the anticipated move into Canada.



"My eyes are wide open to the possibilities," Tracy tells the Toronto Sun.
"I'm looking at all the options and seeing what develops."



"I haven't got any irons in the fire, so to speak (but) there are a lot of
things happening in Canada right now with NASCAR."






Tracy was one of the few series stars who threw their support behind Champ
Car following a bitter bankruptcy over a year ago, despite receiving other
offers including one from NASCAR owner Richard Childress.



Childress, who fields cars for Dave Blaney, Jeff Burton and Kevin Harvick,
has offered Tracy testing roles in the past. There was even an offer for a
one-off race at Infineon Raceway last year, which Tracy declined after
speaking with Champ Car officials.



"One of the main things that would draw me to (NASCAR) would be if they were
to come to Canada. The main reason I've stayed in Champ Car is that I've
been able to race in Canada."



Tracy's contract with Forsythe Racing is set to expire at the end of this
season.

There's a strong rumour that he's on the short list to replace the Pope, so
I wouldn't count on him racing taxi cabs just yet.

Nah, this rumor has been around for a couple of days already.
Historically F1 & Champ Car has a much earlier "Too old for" expiration
date than Nascar. So it wouldn't surprise me if he is seriously
considering Nascar, and the money has become TOO good to pass up.
