 ROSSI ENJOYS SHANGHAI BATTLE

Valentino Rossi (Fiat Yamaha Team YZR-M1-Michelin) fought a titanic duel
for victory at Shanghai today, eventually finishing in second place to
maintain second position in the World Championship points chase. The
former World Champion battled back and forth with Casey Stoner (Ducati
Marlboro Team Desmosedici) until he ran wide at the hairpin at
three-quarters distance. Rossi ended the race just 3.036 seconds behind
Stoner while Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team RC212V-Michelin) took fourth
position, eight seconds off the podium.
