Sebastien Loeb jumped into the lead on the first day of challenging
competition in Rally New Zealand. Leg one on the fourth round of the World
Rally Championship covered 129.22 kilometers over eight stages.

The Frenchman slid his Citroen ahead of Marcus Gronholm by over twenty
seconds when Friday ended the tighly contested fight between the top
rallyists.
