 After a confident start to the 2005 season, the BMW WilliamsF1 Team
travels to the unique desert setting of Sakhir for the Bahrain Grand
Prix. The team hopes to capitalise on an intense period of development
which has seen an unprecedented number of changes brought to the FW27.

With varying fortunes in the first two races of the year, the team's
driver pairing of Nick Heidfeld and Mark Webber will be seeking to lead
the team in a strong and consistent performance in the Middle East
before the start of the European season.

 The Event

The Gulf state of Bahrain will play host to the opening round of this year's
FIA Formula One World Championship while the traditional hosts of the
opening race, Melbourne, busy themselves with the Commonwealth Games. The
race will be the debut for the team's new recruit, Nico Rosberg, who in
preparation has recorded close to 7,000km of testing over 27 car days since
his appointment as a team driver last November.

 Formula One travels from the Far to the Middle East for the last of
the season's opening rounds of long haul races with the Bahrain Grand
Prix on Sunday. The Gulf State of Bahrain provides the location for
round three of the Championship, at the island's Sakhir circuit sited
south-west of the capital, Manama. In only its fourth year, the Bahrain
International Circuit is a wholly unique desert venue.

The race comes just a week after a promising demonstration of race pace
but a poor finish to the Malaysian Grand Prix. The AT&T Williams team
are therefore hoping to improve their performance with points in the
desert.
