fuel light stays on

 The fuel gauge works fine. The fuel light however stays on all the time. The
car is a 1999 Patrol GR diesel. According to the wiring diagram there is a
separate level switch in the diesel tank. I have a few questions: is it
difficult to remove the fuel tank and is the level gauge + switch
repairable.
