Texas Motor Speedway seats question

Matt Costanza 7 May 2005 19:19:09
I'm looking at seats for the fall race at Texas Motor Speedway and I
have found one section that is on the front stretch but listed as
obstructed view. The section is PU 106 row 52. The ticket office says
the obstruction is a metal pole that is about a foot wide that is a
support for one of the skyboxes.

So, my question is how obstructed is the view? The ticket office said it
is not much of an obstruction but I would rather see if anyone here
has any experience?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Regards,

I`m a PSL holder at TMS, but during qualifying and practices we go up top..
I think the beams are just a little annoying but not really considered and
obstructed view.. ANY PU section seat is better than a PL section seat.
Section PU 106 will be going into turn one so it should all be good..

Ask them how many rows in front of you the pole is. If you're sitting
directly behind a foot-wide metal pole, then it's a bad view. If you're 10
rows behind it, it will be a minor annoyance. I've never sat in 106, but I
had a similar pole about 8 rows in front of me for the spring race that
blocked a bit of turn 2-- no big deal, but at Bristol last year the person
next to me was directly behind a skybox support. Not only did his seat
suck, mine did too as his butt kept creeping over the line.

I had PSLs at Kansas Speedway that were obstructed by a metal support beam. The beam blocked the view of turn 4 of the track, and it completely ruined my experience. I had a hard time selling these PSLs, and ended up losing half of what I originally paid. My advice is to stay at least two rows in front of the poles. Its better to be safe than sorry!!!!!!!!
