Did anyone else notice via a TV Replay of the NBS, that there were 2 or 3 Crewmembers without helmets pounding & taping on #8 Truex's car?
TV Talking Heads never mentioned it, but shouldn't there have been a penalty (of 1 lap &/or a drive-thru) that surely would have resulted in the #8 being at least one lap down?
NA$CAR Favoritism or another inspector that needs to be fired?
The TV Talking Heads did point out that many times, a repair is often better than the original aero body. Like past repairs on DEJ cars.
OBTW, i just recently purchased an NBS #8 Bass Pro Shops Diecast cuz i really like Truex' laid-back attitude, from NJ, & a good driver. But 'rulz is rulz', sometimes, eh?
I didn't notice the "no-helmet" crew, but I did notice an official catching a tire from - I believe - Dale Jr's car, which kept the tire from going across pit road.
Are the officials supposed to help catch tires?

They do it quite often if the tire passes close to them. I've not seen one go after a tire but if they can reach out and stop it they often do.

I agree with Steve, but will state it in another way. The officials are not supposed to help a team, , but the officials are supposed to prevent damage and injury (not idly stand by observing a situation get real dangerous).
Officials often catch the tires, it's a safety issue, not an issue of helping a team. It is as much about self preservation as anything. If a car hits a tire, it can go anywhere and hit anybody, including the official.
I didn't notice the crewmen over the wall without their helmets, but if NASCAR noticed it, the penalty is a fine to the crew chief.
