Mikey Waltrip---NASCAR mouthpiece

I swear, the more I see MW, the more I think he is NASCAR's lapdog. I like
him, buy yeesh! He never disagrees with them! Always spouting the company
line.

You must have been watching Inside Nextel Cup tonight. I was thinking
the same basic thing. Also, all of them appear leery of saying anything
about Goodyear.

I'll bet that the drivers, like the rest of us humans, have got a variety
of opinions about what's right for the sport.

I don't get the sense that MW is hiding something or being
two-faced. It's conceivable that he is saying what he believes.

NASCAR has invented a show that has allowed a lot of people
to earn a living. I can see how some of those folks might be
authentically grateful to NASCAR for giving them a good,
if somewhat weird life.

You couldn't pay me enough money to take over administration
of the show. I'm still a happy and satisfied consumer of their
product.

I just caught Inside N.C.

Mikey sure didn't try to hide how he felt about the track smack and
the smack back.

They also noted that perhaps NASCAR was on Dale Jarrett's side
in his interpretation of what happened between HIM (note the
proper English) and Shane Hmiel on the track.

[Somebody must have gotten to the MRN announcers. I
heard some of them use the proper form of the pronoun
after the preposition "between."]

I couldn't make out exactly whose side they were on in the
KB / JG incident. The bottom line seemed to be, "It
was time to go." Their view seemed to be that JG's move
was aggressive, but not unfair and not intentional.

You have selective recall. He was very vocal on some people being penalized
last year that he said should not have been as well as aero rules. What he
said is dead on, they see the big picture and know what the future holds.
For all the arm-chair quarterbacks that said Nascar is "ruining" the sport
has no clue about business and stock holders. The sport has enjoyed growth
the past 5 years that any company would want since the economy had taken a
dive. A few years ago everyone said they won't have 43 cars.. well, I
believe every race there has been over 43 attempting and this week you have
a fully funded team possibly going home.
Also, all of them appear leery of saying anything
about Goodyear.

What is to say about goodyear? Did you see the crazy pressures those guys
were running? Given all the bumping and banging, the tire was not an issue.
..not to mention NASCAR turning a blind eye to him taking Jeff Green out
in retaliation for an earlier on-track incident...

He spun him, he didn't take him out. He said he if he wasn't driving for the
Petty's he would have. It's good to see some emotion. You can't win, you
either get accused of being a mouthpiece or an wrecker.
