I thot Kurt Busch had finally made it all the way to maturity
after listening to his post-race comments on FOX-TV after Mvl.
But after a Speed-TV interview & Writers' interviews,
KB still has a ways to go.
(But CRU is still rooting for him to get there.)

Rudd pleased with seventh-place finish

Richmond News & Record
NOT HAPPY: Kurt Busch both had a strong car but saw his chances to
win end late. Busch wrecked as he raced Jeff Gordon for fourth.
Gordon got under Busch in turn 3 and they made contact with 53 laps
to go. Busch's car backed into the wall.
Later in the race, Busch swerved in front of Gordon when Gordon
attempted to lap him. They made contact. Gordon eventually got by
without suffering any damage.
"I'm disappointed," said Busch, who finished 19th. "We just ran out
of patience again with another Hendrick car."

[CRU: Obvious reference to Bristol 4/3/05 JJ vs JB & Hisself.
Curious syntax used in Busch-ese, like Stengel-ese, Yogi-isms?
Did Kurt attempt to Spencer-ise JG?
Wondering also what the Baseball / Pit-Babe Jeannie Zelasko
was watching when she asked KB 'How did u keep from retaliating?']

Asked about the contact with Gordon when he was being lapped,
Busch said: "That was just showing my displeasure."

At least if Kurt used the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate,
it wasn't caught on camera! Or said on camera-'S*** Happens.'
Both apparently much worse than ruff driving like he, Jeff Green, Mikey, etc..

I think so too, he's got a touch for it ... and I thought Russ put it well:
Both could figure out the likely result.
KB should have realised that it would be far less favorable for him.
Even if he was successful in blocking JG, how long was that going to last?

Perhaps he's been reading you, too, cru!

JG has been known to use the chrome horn. He uses
a lot of finesse when he does.

Agreed. It would be interesting to hear KB's spotter, too. Did he warn
him that JG was inside? Was the warning in time?

I saw the interview with KB after the race and the pit reporter tried to bait
him, hoping he would say something nice and juicy about JG - but to KBs
credit, he didn't take the bait. I am sick and tired of the pit reporters trying
to provoke an angry response from a driver after an on-track incident - I
think it is totally uncalled for, and if Mike Joy is reading this group: why
is this sort of thing allowed to go on?

Even if MJ isn't reading the group, one may recognize that this
is Communications 101: it takes conflict to make a story. The
greater the conflict, the jucier the story.

"This sort of thing" is allowed to go on because the reporters
are part of the show. Without them, the audience wouldn't know
most of the story-within-the-story.

I turned off the TV as soon as the checkered flag flew. I just
wasn't interested in the post-race interviews. If any of my guys
had won, I probably would have watched them. :o(

You're short-changing yourself Marty -- they interview more than just the
winner.

It's my opinion (opinion being an unsubstantiated subjective stance) that
the reporters are getting better at not choosing language that is designed t
prodce an angry response. They're asking about the obvious incident a bit
more tactfully in most cases. Not all the time, but more and more.

The spotter probably if anything said he was clear, because at the time of
beginning the entry to the corner, he was indeed in front of JG. JG managed
to dive "nose to numbers" deep, during the entry to the corner, and hold it
down.

The issue was more about anticipation than observation, in my humble
opinion.

It's one of them cost/benefit decisions.

Watching the winner costs me too much peace of mind, even
though (as you say), there are some benefits to be obtained
for who have a more steely disposition than I do.
