RPG -- Martinsville -- MXM

Martin X. Moleski 9 April 2005 17:42:02
 Mr. Random sez:

18
34
2
40
9

39
16
8
38
5

So we're talkin' about:

1817Matt KensethFord
34175Mike GarveyDodge
212Ryan NewmanDodge
4009Johnny SauterDodge
997Kurt BuschFord

And from the far reaches of Moral Victory Mountain,
where the air is pure and the stars are just a
stretch away, we now catch a glimpse of how the
race will be run:

1. #17 MK will finish 39th or below.

2. #175 Mike Garvey, age 42, who dnf'd at Atlanta
in March for his sole race this year, has had
some success in ASA and Hooters and will FINISH
IN THE TOP 16. <We're already collecting MV points
on this prediction up in the stratosphere. Ooooh,
I feel righteous, righteous!>

<Yes, I'm celebrating now. I don't think this
is going to feel so good tomorrow.>

3. #12 RN will beat #8 Jr.

4. #09 Johnny Sauter, another ASA star (2001
champ), in his second Cup season, has made
the show for the first time this year. He
will finish 38th or above.

5. #97 KB will not finish above 5th.

Bonus: Jr. will be sidelined by the flu.
Johnny Benson will take his place and
finish a respectable 10th.

4. #48 JJ will finish ahead of #20 TS.

Moderately daring - Johnson has had good success at Martinsville,
but the short tracks are Stewart's bread & butter.

5. #26 JMc, who has had two good qualifying runs in the COT (!) will
finish 39th or below.

McMurray has always run well here. It's been the aero tracks that
he's struggled with. The CoT may be a very good thing for him.

I asked the BIL to pick a number between 1 and 15. He replied 13,
which suggests that the 13th qualifier, Jeremy Mayfield, will
win the race. Oooooh, it gives me the shivers to see such a
bold, daring, unexpected, and hopeless prediction like that!

I beleive I've had the winner pick come up when picking Mayfield.
It might not be quite as unrealistic as you think :-)

Mr. Random said "ou sont les neiges d'antan?"

Then he said:

15
8
3
35
1

42
28
40
7
21

From qualifying:

15 44 David Reutimann Toyota UPS
8 18 Kyle Busch Toyota M&M's
3 8 Aric Almirola Chevrolet U.S. Army
35 15 Paul Menard Chevrolet Pittsburgh Paints / Menards
1 24 Jeff Gordon Chevrolet DuPont

And the interpretation is:

1. #44 David Reutimann will finish behind the
#42, Juan Montoya.

2. #18 KyBu will finish behind #28 Travis Kvapil.

3. #8 Aric Almirola will beat 40 cars (top 3).

4. #15 Paul Menard will finish ahead of #07 Clint Bowyer.

5. #24 JG will finish behind #21 Beeel Elliot.

Winner (my pick): JJ #48.

Season to date: +8.
