Seemed to me that if the 16 came in the next ~5 would have stayed out and the
rest would have come in. The SECOND chance to pit, I think Hammond was right,
don't make the same mistake twice, and then they did.

Either way, it was going to be interesting and leading was not the place to be
right then.

Man, I thought I had this one. If they'd been a tad more attentive
in their pit strategy, I think Biffle had one of two strongest cars
and would have put on a good fight w/ Harvick. (not pitting w/ 80
laps to go, or whatever it was, was a bad call regardless of what
anyone else did). -1
2 - Kurt Busch 2nd.

Wrong in a spectacular way. Glad he wasn't worse shaken than to
have the wind knocked out of him. -1
3 - Johnson DNF.

Nope. -1
4 - Harvick highest finishing Chevy.

Got this one, at least :-) +1
5 - McMurray highest finishing Dodge.

Nope - even Kyle Petty finished ahead of him (nice run by Kyle,
actually - staying out of trouble paid off in this race). -1
Bonus - Mark Martin is hit 3 or 4 times by the same guy, eventually> wrecks, looses his temper & throws his helmet at the wrecker.> NASCAR claims they didn't see it despite TV evidence, and does not> issue a fine/penalty.

As one might expect, Mark was entirely in control of his temper.
Maybe in August...

Total -3

No, I think with 80 (or 70, whatever it was) laps to go, everyone
would have pitted. That far out, with this years softer tires, it
would be the right thing to do.

But suspose, for discussions sake, Biffle pits and a bunch of cars
don't. Biffle now has fresh tires, and he's behind a bunch of cars
that he was faster than when he was on old tires. In 70 laps you
don't think he can pass 8 or 10 of them? Given that in the reverse
situation, Biffle on old tires & everyone else on new, 8 guys passed
him, I don't think he'd have had a problem.

For Biffle, I think the worst that could have happened had he pitted
would be if Harvick also pitted, and Biffle came out behind him. I
don't think Biffle had enough to pass Harvick on equal tires, altho
he likely could have kept Harvick behind him.
