Unless you've scooped Jayski and know something the rest of us
don't, I think you've got a minor error here. Not that Ken
Schrader probably wouldn't appreciate some Yates horsepower.

LOL... I was kinda thinking the same thing. It took me longer to get
through his post than it did to think up my predictions ~ and I had to
go through it more than a few times before I actually understood it....
I even had the pencil and paper out taking notes... :)

Such performance would earn you a zero or else 180 points on the year,> depending which scale you use.>

No offense, Russ, but to me the plus 5 version is just an attempt at politically
correct scoring - to not offend stupidity or ineptitude. Sometimes a minus is
just the right thing - let's call a spade a spade - and adding 5 is wrong.
Others may see it as "appearance money" - 5 points just for showing up. I don't
think showing up is the game, getting it right is. Just showing up gets as much
as getting 5 right! Like winning the race should be rewarded more. Like I
generally think touchdown celebrations and dances are inappropriate - it's your
job to score, you just did what you got paid for. Getting excited is great,
emotion if good! But I don't think a Broadway show is necessary.

And nope, I'm not Amish.

(I'm still trying to define the "Moral Victory".) :)

You misunderstand -- if you don't show up, you don't get the 5 points, so
it's the same as getting 5 wrong. Mathematically the systems work out
exactly the same for people that play ever week, however, the +5 version
allows me to score people that don't play every week and have a meaningful
total, whereas the absolute scoring method does not, as people that don't
play earn zero and stay ahead of the rest. Or, I give them minus fives all
the way back through the ones they missed.

What happens is that if somebody shows up halfway through, they can play,
but I won't have a meaningful total for them in the absolute (mostly
negative) scores. But I can give them a meaningful total in the positive
scores.

I present both so you can follow whichever one you prefer.

-Russ.

I get it, Russ. I was mostly kidding and I'm cool with the dual system. Heck,
I'm glad you do it at all! If you would have started with the plus 5 system I'd
probably prefer that over the minus system. I also prefer Classic Coke.

I'm thinking about Vegas and who is, so far, driving over their head and who is
ready to bounce back and who is exactly where they belong ... I'm gonna have a
good week next week, no random numbers here!

I think you're safely out of the "gimme" zone with the #43 to win. 8^)

Yes, Mr. Random has the courage of his convictions. :o)

We knew there would be a "first time winner." Just picked
the wrong driver, team, and marque. :o(

KyBu had the kind of race that JG needed. HMS can still
build fast cars.
