He will retire 2nd place all time. He won't be able to catch Petty's > tainted record.

He will retire first in the modern era. He will pass DE this year or early
next. HE will pass DW in 2007. He will hit 100 wins in 2009.

He COULD of course choose to retire before then but who knows.

The 200 wins by Petty are a joke. 130 of those are really valid wins in my
opinion. Even so Gordon won't pass 130 either.
