Are they really Jesse Jones dogs? If so, that would explain why I like the
dogs at the local golf courses so much. JJ is all over NC and is the "turn
snack" of choice for me and my golfing buddies. I knew JJ dogs were the good
"red" dog type, just wasn't aware that they were the Martinsville brand of
dogs too...and I go to Marty and eat them, a lot. Mustard, chili, and
onions...now I'm hungry. lol

Don't sell Nathan's dogs short though. Something to be said about a dog with
a "skin" on it to keep the flavor in...they're very good too.

That does it! I'm definitely taking that golf vacation to the Carolinas
next winter. My group has been discussing it on and off for a few years,
and I've been trying like hell to convince them to go. The two that
don't want to go are race fans... If I let them know that there's race
track food on the golf courses, they'll be there.
Thanks Sim.

Most of the ones around Raleigh-Fayetteville-Southern Pines/Pinehurst
usually offer hot dogs. And since JJ is either an NC company, or has a huge
presence in NC (dunno which), it is usually those bright red dogs that you
find in the snack side of the clubhouses...Maybe because they are generally
the cheapest dogs available at the local grocers? I know that's what we buy
when we're doing dogs and burgers on the grill at the house. And when we
want bologna for whatever reason, JJ's is as good as it gets too.

I am so fearful of the new "ownership" (I$C) with their ownership of
concessionaire (sp?) Americrown whether the Red Dawgs will survive. Someone
will have to let us know.

I think I enjoyed about 10 of them last October. Mmmmmm....

Sim...check the big billboard on the backstretch, just coming outta
T-2...definitely Jesse Jones! The concession stands historically have been
operated by local groups as fund-raiser events...hope Mark C.'s concerns after the
buy-out don't kill a *major* (to me) tradition.
