SI Mikey bashing...

" Sure, there's no question that the entire DEI operation is having some
serious problems right now -- Waltrip has yet to finish above 20th; if his
pedestrian performances continues, he'll be looking for a new ride next
year. But I expect Junior to turn his season around this weekend in Atlanta.
In fact, he's my pick to take the checkers. "

I love this article... in one breath the guy is defending the DEI crew/car
swap, and saying that Jr will turn it around this weekend at Atlanta - and
in the next breath he's beating up Mikey about him not finishing higher than
20th so far this year. Dumbass... of course he doesn't mention that it was
due to TWO blown DEI engines. Waltrip would have finished top ten EASILY in
the first two races this season had it not been for his 380 mile disposable
engines. Grr. Argh.

The two DEI guys aren't that far away from each other in the points... and
Michael is the only one that had a dead engine taking him out of two of the
races. Sounds like Jr's doing worse than him, if ya ask me.

Look at the history of the two drivers ~ Mikey has been racing at the
Cup level for over 20 years and has never finished above 12th in the
points including his 4 years at DEI. He has only 4 wins and they were
all at plate tracks with DEI cars.... OTOH, Jr has been racing full
time in Cup for 5 years, and has finished in the top 10 three of those
years. He has 15 wins on all sorts of tracks and has already
accummulated more top 5's than Mikey has in his 20 years.

As far as turning it around in Atlanta ~ Jr has won there, and
consistently runs well there. Mikey's average finish there is over 20.

IOW, SI isn't bashing Mikey ~ they are simply stating the facts.
