Wow, any of you check out the F1 "race"? No tire changes? What's up with
that? How did open wheel racing get so bad all over the world?

yep, I watched it. I wasn't impressed with the changes made in the off
season either. I don't see how the no tire changes or the two races
per engine rules are gonna signficantly change the quality of racing on
the track ~ except that it will cause the drivers to need to to nurse
the cars more rather than putting it all out there. I think the
biggest area where we will an effect is in the number of cars that
retire from the races due to mechanical or tire issues and IMO that is
a step backwards for the sport. As far as I can see, the changes gonna
save teams money (kinda creating more of sense of equality among teams)
and cause them to change their strategy when planning how they want to
run the race but not much more than that.

F1 is trying to be Nascar like. They want close racing.>
The problem is that Nascar legislates close racing by having similar> templates, old tech rules, and the ever ready yellow flag.>
F1 used to be about high tech, fast as they can get cars. Nobody cared if> the leader was ahead by 2 minutes or if one team won 15 of 16 races. If a> team could dominate everyone else, everyone else had to get better.>
I'd rather watch F1 that way, but I'm sure F1 has marketing geniuses that> tell them they need to keep mucking around until they have restrictor> plate style crap to sell.>
Well you can take that statement with a grain of salt lol, F1 is popular
in europe and south america for sure, but in North America its Nascar all
the way and thats all that really matters to US over here, world wide does
not matter Soccer is big world wide too but its Football ( with the big skin
lol ) thats popular over here, so it doesn't really matter what the world
thinks, its what we think over here that the advertisers care about, F1 is
by far the most boring racing series out there right now. And indy car what
a waste of time lol empty seats everywhere they go, why do they even bother.
and it was great to see Micheal Schumacher crash out of a race and let
someone else win for a change lol.
