Mikey blows

Hitman 21 February 2005 04:44:21
Waltrip saw his career with DEI go up in smoke when he blew the motor up,
He drove the car into the ground trying to impress.
Trues will be driving that car the next time in Daytona.

Ran the car into the ground? Looked to me like he was biding his time and
running a smart race.

Sometimes the car breaks. It happens. Maybe something's brewing behind the
scenes that I don't know about, but I didn't see anything today that would
indicate Mikey should lose his ride.

Shortest post I've ever seen by you, man.

Agree for the most part. If Mikey loses his ride it will be because of 4
years of below average performance outside the plate tracks, not because of
a blown motor.

It's the poorest kept secret in motorsports that Mikey has been told he has to
finish in the Chase this year to keep his ride.

Notice where his point standing is after yesterday? 36th. That means he's not
guaranteed a starting spot at California this weekend.

Even though Johnny Sauter was not on the track yesterday, I fear Mikey's in for
the same type season as last year. A bunch of early not-his-fault DNFs and bad
finishes...

Err...ummm...last year's owners points for the first 4 this year, I b'leeve.

Also likely...and if Mikey's gone we'll see less smarmy JR/Mikey
commercials...a GOOD thing!

I think the Chevys dominated this race more so than any one owner. Check > out laps led today. If Mikey didn't blow up he would have been there at > the end, most likely.>
Whats that old saying?........
"In order to finish first....one must first finish."
If Jr's was telling the truth about how they had special engine parts
shipped in earlier in the week to boost their HP, then that is possibly why
Mikey's motor didn't survive the race. Jr's motor may have been a time bomb
too. Not enough time to have these parts endurance tested on their dyno for
this race.
