Who cares? There is nothing about the common templates which makes a
car look like its, ahem, 'production' counterpart anyway. The parts
which make up the engines aren't useful in today's hotrods anyway.

There is no such thing as a 2 door Taurus or Intrepid, There is also
no such thing as a RWD Taurus, Intrepid, Gran Prix, Monte Carlo,
Lumina or new Charger. The only recent sporty car which resembles a
NASCAR racecar would be a T-Bird, and only if you are talking about
the SC.

So you might as well get used to the same templates with a sticker
which says Chevy, Dodge, or Ford on it. If Ford is next to go, it
will pave the way for another sacreligious move on NASCAR's part and
that is to allow Toyota to race in Cup.

As near as we can tell, it was on 3/14/2005 3:05 PM when Mike Smith
transmitted as follows:

Not quite. Charger is RWD, not that it has any impact on the arguments
you are making.

So Toyota stickers should be banned from NA$CAR Template Racing? You
going to boycott a particular driver's sponsor because they happen to
sponsor a template car with a Toyota sticker on it?

Template racing will kill NA$CAR.

I was alluding to the first auto race ever. After all, the automobile was
invented in Europe.

Who cares! The engines are custom built, the frames are custom built, the body
is custom built and the interior is customer built. There isn't anything Ford
about a Ford just like there isn't anything Chevy or Dodge about the Chevy or
Dodge NASCAR cars. It's all about sponsorship and making fools of the morons
who think branding has anything to do with a NASCAR template car.

I think Ransom Olds (Oldsmobile) was big into racing just after the turn of
the century. They won the 1905 Transcontinental Race. An interesting
side note, the 1901 Olds Dash Runabout got 40 MPG and could drive across
terrain that would get a modern day SUV stuck.
