Nah. If that were the case, you'd have seen 20 Cup drivers there the very
next year. Cup drivers have driven the Rolex for a lot long than
Earnhardt's appearance and you could very easily say that he was just one of
many who were climbing aboard what other drivers had been doing long before
him.

In 1986 AJ set the fastest lap of the race...in the rain...in the dark...after
not driving a sports car for many years...after being insulted by a Frenchie.

But mainly, when the cars were fast and not dumbed down for the NASCAR crowd.
