Can someone please tell me what the Circle with dotted lines going
around means on the warning/display panel?!?
My guess is that its related to the wheels/brakes...
Can anyone please clarify?

Here is a picture; the part is right off the fuel injector pump, arrows
are pointing to the area that is leaking:

It drips only when running, about 1-4 drops a second.
Can anyone tell me what this part is and how hard it would be to fix
it?

I saw your posting on line.
I just acquired a 1994 E420 from my Father-in-law from out of state.
California has a SMOG emissions test that is required before licensing
in California.
The check engine light has been on for 4 1/2 years.
He has had it serviced many times over the past 4 1/2 years & they told
him not to worry about it, that there was nothing wrong with the car.
What can I do. It passes the California emissions, but because the
check engine light is on it is an automatic fail.
Is there any way to reset the check engine light??
Even just for a couple hours?? That's all I need, since it passed with
flying colors the emissions tests.....

Lately I've noticed that the air conditioning in my '91
300D 2.5 doesn't cool very well while driving at less
than freeway speeds. At first I wrote it off to the
fact that the compressor simply isn't turning very fast
at low engine RPM, and that the unprecedented heat wave
the San Francisco area is going through right now is
overpowering what would ordinarily be satisfactory A/C
performance.
However, I once had the same problem with a Toyota pickup
I used to own. Then I discovered a small, knurled plastic
knob under the dash marked "speed." I turned it all the
way down (anticlockwise), and the probem was solved: all
of a sudden the air conditioning blew cold even with the
engine at idle.
Is there an equivalent adjustment that can be made on W124s?

coolant level light also stays on even if I disconnect the plug from
the coolant fillertank's sensor.
Is there a relay for the fan?
Is there any switching from the ECU for the fan?
Where is the temperature sensor located that controls the fan to bring
the car's temperature down?

| | I test drove an '04 C230 sedan at a non-mercedes dealership. I would like to
buy it but the Carfax history shows not a single record of service on the
vehicle. The vehicle has 22K miles on it.
I called a Mercedes service center and the manager told me that if there was
no service history showing on Carfax, then the car had never been serviced
period, either at a Mercedes service center or otherwise.
The car drove very well and other than the Carfax history not showing
service, I like the car very much as it meets all of theother criteria I am
looking for, which has been a difficult search. The dealer tells me it has a
50,000 mile warranty on it (I think this is just drive-train). I am not sure
if it would be voided if the car was not serviced at a Mercedes dealership.
Any info/advice appreciated.

Car suddenly would not shutdown, PLUS the headlights would not shut
off, and the wiper/sunroof/turn-signal curcuit was dead.
I jumped a wire from a life fuse to the nonworking one and got the
sunroof to close in the rainstorm and the wipers on the get me home.
But still no shutoff and lights stay on until engine is manually
extingushed.
Any ideas?
